Accumulation of 137Cs by Thallus of Epiphytic Lichen Hypogymnia physodes (L.) Nyl on Different Trunk Height in Pine Stands

Lichens are considered by researchers as bioindicators of environmental pollution artificial radionuclides, including 137Cs. One these bioindicator species is epiphytic lichen Hypogymnia physodes (L.) Nyl, the use which for radioecological monitoring can be modified several factors: tree species, placement on (branches – trunk), height sampling, etc. The purpose this study was to investigate specific activity 137Cs in thalli hypogymnia pine stands: trunks Pinus sylvestris L. and Betula pendula Roth at different heights sampling 3 ranges: 0–65, 65–130, 130–195 cm, analyse intensity radionuclide accumulation “lichen thallus bark” link both all ranges. conducted August 2021 Korosten district Zhytomyr Oblast, Polissia, 4 test plots, Drevlianskyi nature reserve, mainly middle-aged stands with an admixture birch, where 130 samples soil, bark, were taken.
